The Intern Psychologist functions as part of a multidisciplinary team.Clinical psychology is a discipline integrating science, theory, and clinical knowledge for the purpose of understanding, preventing and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective wellbeing and personal development.Psychologists assess and treat mental, emotional and behavioural disorders. They use the science of psychology to treat complex human problems and promote change. They develop an individual's resilience using strengths-based models.About you:Minimum of a bachelor's degree in psychology or equivalent*Currently registered as part of Doctoral or Masters' level vocational training in psychologyRegistration with NZ Psychologist Board, with Intern Psychologist Scope of PracticeCurrent annual practising certificateUnderstanding of mental health in infants, children, adolescents, adults and their familiesEffective oral and written communicationWorking in a multi-disciplinary environmentCan use Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel)Can keep detailed written file notes, complete client pathway documentation and provide formal assessment reports as requiredView position description*Please note these internships are only open to Otago Clinical Psychology students* Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
