Motor Mechanics/ Automotive Technicians

Two years or more of relevant experience to repair forklifts and other diesel and petrol engines are required for these positions.

We have 3 vacancies in Christchurch, 3 in Tauranga and 8 in Auckland and successful applicants will be required to work in any of the three locations and regions.

• Detect and diagnose faults in engines and engine parts,
• Dismantle and remove engines, transmissions and steering mechanisms,
• Maintain, test, repair engines and other mechanical parts of engines and other heavy machines such as transmissions, suspensions, steering and brakes,
• Repair and replace worn out and defective parts,
• Perform scheduled maintenance services,
• Reassess engines and parts after being repaired,
• Test and adjust mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance,
• Diagnose and test parts with the assistance of computer,
• Attend to breakdowns and visit customer sites to repair and service forklifts,
• Any other duties assigned by management.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills,
• Valid driver license and a clean driving record,
• Solid computer skills, particularly data entry,
• Strong multitasking and time management skills,
• Excellent analytical skills,
• Ability to lift 25 kgs or more and to crouch and/or crawl in confined areas,

• Minimum Guaranteed Hours: 30
• Maximum Guaranteed Hours: 40
• Hours of Work: 8 to 5 pm Monday to Friday,
• Weekend and After Hours: As Required,
• Hourly Rate: $33.60
• Approximate Annual Wages based on 40 hours: $69888.00
