HDC has recently refreshed its Communications Strategy to drive growth and efficiency across the district. A key focus in your first 12 months will be embedding this strategy and guiding staff and councillors through the journey.
Mo te turanga | About the Role
We’re looking for an exceptional communicator with 7+ years of experience in the communications field and proven leadership skills to head up a small, dynamic team. Your ability to collaborate will be second to none, as you’ll work closely with all areas of Council to deliver impactful, consistent messaging and engagement.
To Korero | About YouBachelor’s Degree or level 7 Diploma in related field
7+ years relevant work experience
Demonstrated knowledge of the media environment and public relations experience
Emergency communications experience
Strong networking and community engagement focus
Local Government experience and knowledge (preferred)
Able to be ‘On Call’ (rostered standby)
An understanding of te ao Maori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi will be considered an advantage
