Permanent part-time role working 20 hours per week based in the Whangārei Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Addictions ServiceSupport rangatahi on their journey to recoveryAction meaningful change all whilst enjoying everything the stunning North has to offer!Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RolePeer support is based on the concept that people who have had a lived experience of mental health difficulties in their teen years, and have experienced recovery, can instil hope by providing support and demonstrating recovery to others.You have the opportunity to support rangatahi and whānau who utilise Te Roopu Kimiora (Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Addiction) services.In the role you can expect to work as part of a team to directly support young people on their path to recovery and bring a youth voice service development.The peer support worker will also contribute to service development by having a strong lived experience voice during times of multi-disciplinary consultation meetings and service development projects.Click here to view the position description.About the Team/Service/LocationThis team provides acute and community services for children and young people (up to 19 years) who have significant mental health, alcohol and other drug concerns.
