Part-Time Yard Assistant – Hornby
We’re seeking a reliable Part-Time Yard Assistant to join a well-established business based in Hornby. This role is available for an immediate start and will initially run until the end of March, with the opportunity to move into full-time work within a few months for the right person.
This position is well suited to a school leaver, student, or someone keen to learn, who already holds an OSH forklift licence but may not yet have hands-on forklift experience.
About the RoleLarge-scale yard and site clean-up
General housekeeping and maintenance of the yard
Assisting with day-to-day yard operations
Opportunity to gain practical forklift experience on the job
Supporting the wider team as an all-rounder
Hours & Pay: 24–30 hours per week
Three weekdays, with potential Saturday work$26.90 per hour + 8% holiday pay
What You’ll Need: Current OSH forklift licence (essential)
No prior forklift or yard experience requiredA strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Physically fit and safety-focused
Full legal working rights in New Zealand
Two references
Ability to pass pre-employment testing and ACC checks
