About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for a skilled and collaborative Physiotherapist to step into a strategic and supportive leadership role as a Professional Lead - Physiotherapy. This permanent part-time position (0.5 FTE) is based across the stunning Bay of Plenty, working Monday to Friday.
In the role, you will be responsible for championing excellence in Physiotherapy practice, supporting professional growth, and contributing to future service planning. From shaping education programmes and contributing to development reviews, to driving service design and improvement initiatives, your leadership will directly support better outcomes for both practitioners and the communities we serve.
The role involves regular connection with Physiotherapists across the district, supporting their development, celebrating what is working well, and fostering responsive, evidence-based service delivery. You will also collaborate closely with other Professional Leads and the Allied Health Leaders Team to influence the future of integrated care across the Bay.

This role sits within our Allied Health Services - a regionally connected, forward-thinking network of clinicians, educators, and leaders working together to lift outcomes and equity across the Bay of Plenty. You will work across a variety of sites, engaging with a passionate workforce and contributing to a shared vision for excellence.Whether it is Tauranga, Whakatane, or all the rural communities in between, the Bay offers a blend of clinical complexity, lifestyle flexibility, and collaborative spirit.

About you
You are an experienced Physiotherapist with a strong understanding of clinical best practice, current standards, and sector change. You communicate with clarity, empower others, and bring curiosity and confidence to your work. With a calm and respectful presence, you lead by listening, connecting, and building on what is already working.
What you will bring:
- Current registration with NZ Physiotherapy Board and Annual Practicing Certificate
- Extensive experience in physiotherapy practice across settings
- Ability to work across diverse teams and adapt to different environments
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Familiarity with Health NZ - Te Whatu Ora professional standards and practice frameworks
- A proactive, collaborative approach to leadership and service improvement
