Are you a strategic leader with a passion for transport and infrastructure? We’re looking for a dynamic Transportation Business Manager to lead the business operations of our transport portfolio.

Te Wero – The Challenge

This role is pivotal in ensuring contract performance, aligning internal systems and objectives, and delivering high-quality services across customer engagement, finance, HR, and more. You’ll be the key advisor to senior leadership and elected members, helping shape the future of transport in the Far North.

I a koe - About You

As the Transportation Business Manager, you will have:
  • A Bachelors’ qualification in Civil or Transport Engineering, Public Policy, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Over 10 years’ experience in transport operations or planning, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven expertise in programme, project, financial, and contract management within a complex infrastructure environment
  • Deep understanding of asset and network management, road construction and maintenance, and transport planning functions
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to align transport initiatives with broader organisational goals
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer service excellence
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience advising senior leaders and elected members
  • A collaborative and adaptable leadership style, with the ability to work across functions and manage ambiguity
  • Sound financial acumen, including budget management and performance reporting
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to innovation and service delivery
