Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upholstery Technician to join our team. As we establish our new furniture factory, the successful candidate will be instrumental in creating patterns and cutting fabric/foam for new furniture models and designs.

This role is perfect for someone with a passion for craftsmanship, innovation, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create patterns and templates for cutting and sewing fabric and foam for new furniture models and designs.
  • Upholster, repair, and restore furniture, including sofas, chairs, and custom-made pieces.
  • Select and cut fabric, foam, and other materials as per design specifications.
  • Assemble furniture frames and apply upholstery materials using tools and techniques.
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of finished products meets company standards.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop and execute innovative furniture projects.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and social media platforms.
  • Assist with deliveries and handle customer interactions with professionalism.
  • Print product pricing tags and ensure accurate in-store labeling.
  • Order stock from suppliers and manage inventory levels efficiently.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the store, both inside and outside, to ensure an inviting environment.
  • Support delivery staff by helping with furniture loading and unloading when required.
  • Help sales staff in-store when needed.
  • Adhere to workplace safety and health standards.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in upholstery or furniture manufacturing (minimum of 2 years preferred).
  • Expertise in creating patterns and cutting fabric/foam for furniture designs.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to read and interpret design plans, sketches, and templates.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanour.
  • Good physical dexterity and ability to handle heavy materials.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
