Painter/Plasterer

Hours: Minimum of 30 hours per week to maximum of 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks and holes

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet deadlines

• Clean the work area before starting any plastering activity.
• Inspect all screws and surfaces to ensure there no bumps or uneven areas.
• Check and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition(e.g. mixer, sanding machine, trowel).
• Mix plaster to the correct consistency and apply it to the designated areas.
• Apply the base coat evenly on all surfaces.
• Use paper tape for all internal corners.
• Reinforce all joints with fiber fuse or fiber mesh before coating.
• After the base coat has dried, clean the area again and perform light sanding to achieve a smooth surface.
• Apply the second coat of plaster, ensuring a consistent and even finish.
• Wait for the plaster to dry completely before performing the final sanding.
• Sand the final coat carefully to achieve a smooth and professional finish.
• Clean the tools and work area after finishing the job.

• Clean the area before starting any painting work.
• Use vacuum to remove all dust and debris, especially in corners where dust tends to collect.
• Apply Primer evenly to all prepared surfaces,
• After Primer dries, sand lightly and perform a light check to Identify any surface imperfections.
• Patch all defect areas with filler or compound.
• Once the Patching dries, sand patched areas smoothly.
• Apply the first coat of paint evenly across walls and ceilings.
• Perform another light check to find small defects or uneven areas.
• Spot- fill minors defects, allow to dry, then sand again for a smooth finish.
• Before applying the final coat, lightly sand all walls and ceilings to ensure smoothness.
• Apply the final top coat of paint evenly for clean and professional finish.
• Once the job is complete, Clean the entire area and ensure all tools and materials are properly stored.

What we’re looking for:

• At least 3 years’ experience as a painter/plasterer
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Plasterer and spray painter experience is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Good communication and time management skills
• Understanding of health and safety practices
