We are one of Auckland's oldest pool renovation and valet companies. We provide professional assistance to our clients in the areas of (1) full pool renovations; (2) equipment installations, upgrading & servicing of all aspects of pool equipment and, perhaps most importantly, (3) regular maintenance and water quality assurance (valeting).
We are dedicated to ensuring that our customers create and maintain the best pool environment possible, so that they can enjoy maximum pool leisure all year round.
We are currently looking for a new pool valet person to join our team.The successful applicant will receive full training, if they have no previous experience.
Previous experience would be an advantage and would be reflected in applicant's starting pay rate.
For the inexperienced, this is a great opportunity to learn a new skill, join a friendly team and work in the outdoors.
Duties will include:- valeting and maintaining clients' pools
- testing and balancing of pool-water; water chemistry
- becoming familiar with, and fully understanding, pool filtration systems
- monitoring associated pool equipment eg heating and auto-dosing systems
- conscientious maintenance of paperwork & reporting protocols
- friendly and responsible interaction with clients on a daily basis
- Experience in pool maintenance or servicing, or similar, might well provide the applicant with an advantage at interview but it is not the principal quality we are looking for; we are looking for the right personal characteristics which will encourage long-term job-satisfaction.
- Successful applicant must be genuinely self-motivated, honest and reliable, possess integrity and have the ability to learn quickly and to continue to learn for many months after the initial training period.
- He/she needs to be happy and comfortable working on their own (after initial training period) while also being happy to interact with a diverse range of clients and colleagues.
- There is a certain social aspect to the job as the applicant will mix with a wide variety of clients and the ability to interact with them happily is important and will improve job satisfaction.
- Personal presentation and maturity are important personal characteristics.
- The ability to keep accurate written daily records and to maintain accountable reporting protocols is crucial
- Amongst other things, this is a physical job requiring stamina, strength and a willingness to work in all weathers.
Van and mobile phone are provided to each valet person, including the (conditional) privilege of taking van home each night - so successful applicant will have no travel-to-work expenses.
Training period will normally be 5-6 weeks.
- Initial remuneration will be discussed at interview; it is likely to be in the range of $28-$31 per hour
- A 3-month trial period will apply and the wages rate will increase at that trial period's successful conclusion

- Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
- Applicants must have a full clean NZ driver's licence.
- Applicants must be able to pass a police check.
- They should also be willing to undergo a drugs test, if required
