Job Description: Contract Manager – Horticulture

Maximum Hours of Work Per Week:40

Key Requirements:

• A Level 4 or above qualification in any management or related field, OR At least 2 years of experience in a related field or any type of management experience irerespective of the industry he or she has worked in.
• Strong organisational, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proven ability to interpret contract documents, manage timelines, and coordinate multiple subcontractors or service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, negotiate, and administer service and contractor agreements for orchard and horticultural operations
• Coordinate and supervise the work of contractors (e.g., pruning, harvesting, canopy maintenance), ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline standards
• Monitor contract performance, manage variations and resolve issues or disputes in consultation with senior management
• Prepare and analyse reports on service delivery outcomes, plant health, workforce performance, and cost control
• Maintain operational documentation, such as service logs, contract records, work schedules, and compliance certifications
• Liaise with farm leadership, suppliers, and regulatory stakeholders regarding contract scopes and requirements
• Advise senior management on contractual obligations, renewal schedules, and improvement opportunities
• Provide input into budgeting, resource allocation, and planning related to outsourced services
