Excavator Operator

We're looking for a skilled Excavator Operator to join our client's stable civil construction team! If you take pride in precision work, are physically fit and health and safety conscious, this could be the role for you.

About the Role: You'll be responsible for operating excavators to perform trenching, site cuts, drainage, roadworks, and general earthmoving activities across a range of civil projects. You'll work closely with site supervisors and other operators to help deliver high-quality infrastructure efficiently and safely in Waikato.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators for civil works including trenching, backfilling, grading, and material relocation
• Read and follow site plans, levels, and construction drawings
• Conduct pre-start checks and routine equipment maintenance
• Work safely and comply with all site safety procedures and environmental standards
• Collaborate with ground crew and supervisors to ensure project timelines and quality targets are met

We are looking for:

• Proven experience operating excavators in the civil construction industry
• WTR, Class 2-4 preferred
• To be a safe heavy machinery operator, mindful of others
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
• GPS machine control experience (desired but not essential)
• Reliable, hard-working, and communicates if you're going to be away.
