About the Role
A hospital Social Worker is all about supporting patients and whanau through tough times. You will be part of a well-established, supportive team that helps people navigate the healthcare system, address emotional and social needs, and connect them with resources.
This casual role works across a range of hospital wards and departments that receive social work support.
Some key aspects of hospital social work include:
- Patient Advocacy: Supporting patients to navigate the healthcare system and advocating for their needs
- Emotional Support: Providing support to patients and whanau through challenging times
- Discharge Planning: Assisting with safe, well-supported discharge plans and connecting people to community resources
- Collaboration: Working with healthcare teams to ensure holistic, patient-centred care
About the Team/Service/Location
Our team of Clinical Social Workers is employed across the hospital in various departments and wards, supporting local and rural communities.

About You
As a casual Social Worker you will need to:
- Be registered with the Social Work Registration Board
- Have 5 years of clinical practice experience
- Hold a current driver's licence
- Be able to pass a Vulnerable Children's Check
- Be fit and healthy
- Be available to work occasional weekends and after-hours (by negotiation)
