[ref. c13111822] General Yardsman / mechanic

We're seeking a skilled and versatile mechanic /yardsman to join our engineering workshop in Tauranga. As a member of our small team, you'll work on a variety of heavy diesel vehicles, mostly heavy trucks but some rollers, forklifts, utes, cars, and 4x4s.

• A lot of General mechanic work on anything under the sun.
• Tyre changing.
• Truck disassembly and reassembly
• There's a fair bit of General yard work; IE moving, storing, stacking and packing stock, cleaning and tidying of yard and workshop, breaking down obsolete stock for scrap metal, burning rubbish. This includes the operation of a forklift and the use of hand tools and power tools at times.
• Finding vehicles or parts in the yard, to package up parts or machinery that we've sold.
• A bit of panel and paint work may be required
• Running vehicle electrical wiring may be asked of you.
• Collecting/delivering parts/people/trucks from town and using the work vehicle occasionally as required
• Cleaning of vehicles and their components.

We're looking for a respectful, motivated and experienced person with a broad skill set, physical stamina, and a can-do attitude. Familiarity with various truck makes and models is a plus. This is certainly not an entry level position. If you're a self-starter who thrives in a hands-on environment, we'd love to hear from you!

Hours are Monday to Friday 8-4:30 up Oropi road, Tauranga. You get weekends off and at Christmas we shut down for 3 weeks holiday.
