About the role

We are seeking experienced Geotechnical Construction Engineers to join our high-performing team. Depending on experience, this role may suit a Site Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Manager with opportunities for career progression. You will play a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of geotechnical construction works, managing people, plant, and subcontractors while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and program.

This is a hands-on position that combines site-based leadership with office-based project management responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop work schedules and plans for piling activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Have effective communication with staff onsite, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Provide guidance, training and support to the team
  • Ensure all pile installation processes meet the project specifications and quality standards
  • Coordinate and manage the maintenance and usage of piling equipment and materials involved
  • Identify and resolve challenges or issues that may arise during piling operations
  • Support site operations by removing roadblocks, coordinating resources, and facilitating site-to-office liaison.
  • Monitor and control project expenses related to piling activities
Requirements
  • A BE, NZCE, or similar qualification in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (preferred but not essential for the right candidate)
  • Proven experience in geotechnical construction in New Zealand and/or Australia
  • Strong technical understanding of piling, ground anchors, and/or ground improvement methods
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver geotechnical projects safely, on time, and within budget
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence coordinating people, plant, and multiple work fronts
  • Sound knowledge of site safety, risk management, and quality systems
  • The ability to plan ahead, prioritise effectively, and adapt to changing site conditions
  • A full New Zealand driver licence
