Truck & Trailer driver

Must be experienced, will be drug and alcohol tested as required.

• Vehicle Operation: Safely operate heavy combination vehicles (truck and trailer units)
• Load Management: Supervise, assist with, and ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo. Responsibilities include verifying the accuracy of the load and properly securing loads.
• Inspections and Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to check for mechanical issues, safety concerns (tires, lights, brakes), and ensure the vehicle is in good working order. Perform basic maintenance or report defects to management promptly.
• Documentation and Compliance: Accurately complete and maintain all required documentation, including detailed logbooks (hours of service), delivery dockets, timesheets, and fuel records. Adhere strictly to all national and local transport laws and safety regulations, including weight limits and mandatory rest periods.
• Route Planning: Plan the most efficient routes using maps, GPS, and route planning software, while considering traffic and weather conditions to meet delivery schedules.
• Communication and Customer Service: Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding trip status, delays, and any issues encountered. Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, obtaining necessary signatures and addressing complaints or issues as needed.
