Lead Electrician / Solar Installer
We're looking for a skilled and qualified electrician to lead the development and operation of a brand-new solar division.
This is a hands-on, autonomous role where you’ll oversee everything from setup and planning to installations, admin, finances, and ongoing maintenance. While you’ll have support from a wider group of companies, this role is ideal for someone who thrives working independently and enjoys building something from the ground up.

What You’ll Be Doing:As the go-to expert for solar solutions, you’ll manage all aspects of solar energy services across commercial properties. This includes:
- Maintenance & Servicing: Conduct routine inspections and performance checks to ensure solar systems run smoothly and meet all regulatory standards.
- Repairs: Troubleshoot and fix system faults, replacing components where needed.
- Installations: Carry out professional solar PV installations following regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Compliance: Issue Certificates of Compliance (COCs) and stay updated with evolving standards and best practices.
- Customer Engagement: Communicate technical details clearly to tenants and provide ongoing support and advice.
- Admin & Reporting: Generate quotes, maintain accurate records for invoicing, and oversee project finances and procurement.
- Collaboration: Work alongside property and project teams to deliver solar projects on time and on budget.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a strong safety-first approach at all times.
What You’ll Bring:
- Certifications:
- EWRB registration and current practicing license with Mains Parallel Generation Systems endorsement
- Up-to-date safety certifications (working at heights, confined spaces, etc.)
- Full, clean NZ driver’s licence
- Experience & Skills:
- Proven background in commercial solar system installs and servicing
- Strong technical fault-finding skills
- Solid management or leadership experience in energy or construction industries
- Effective communicator with great customer service skills
- Physically fit and comfortable working with heavy equipment
- Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
