At Qualified Pet Services (Est. 1993), animals aren’t just guests — they’re family. We're seeking a kind, reliable, and experienced animal handler to join our dedicated team as a Kennel & Cattery Assistant.

This is a rewarding, hands-on role for someone who truly loves animals like their own children and has experience caring for both dogs and cats. You don’t need formal vet nurse qualifications — but you must be confident, compassionate, and comfortable working with animals of all sizes and temperaments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care for dogs and cats, including feeding, cleaning, and enrichment
Observe animal health and behavior and report any concerns to senior staff
Keep kennels, catteries, and common areas clean and hygienic at all times
Assist with light manual work such as laundry, hosing, lifting, and general upkeep
Create a calm and caring environment where animals feel safe and loved
Help with basic medication or treatments if trained and experienced
Occasionally assist with customer handovers or enquiries
  • What We’re Looking For:
Someone who genuinely loves animals like their own
Experience handling dogs and/or cats in any setting (kennel, cattery, farm, vet clinic, grooming, rescue, etc.)
A basic understanding of animal needs, stress signs, and safe handling techniques
Physically fit and comfortable with manual work (lifting, cleaning, walking, etc.)
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Able to work independently and as part of a small team
Can follow hygiene, health, and safety protocols
Weekend availability is essential
  • Bonus Skills:
Vet nursing or animal care experience
Grooming experience
Animal first aid training
Experience working with pets in a professional setting (e.g., vet, boarding, rescue)
  • Why Work With Us?
Be part of a small, passionate, animal-loving team
Enjoy a meaningful role where your care makes a real difference
Learn and grow with support from experienced professionals
Work at a long-established and trusted facility
Flexible working arrangement – part-time or full-time considered
Visa sponsorship may be available for the right applicant
