We're seeking a passionate innovator ready to make a meaningful impact in our communities.This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Ōtautahi tari/Christchurch office.Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunityAs a Senior Advisor you will be the champion and promoter of the Te Puni Kōkiri investment strategy to enable better outcomes for Māori.

This role involves building relationships with key stakeholders in the region, ensuring other agencies deliver effective services for Māori communities, managing investments to support Māori economic development, and providing regional insights to guide decision-making and policy creation.

The role also involves: Supporting the region to deliver on the work programme Utilising and building upon your strong relationships in Ōtautahi with Ngāi Tahu and Ngā Maata waka communities Supporting the Regional Director and Team Leader to build a strong presence for Te Puni Kōkiri in the region to support the implementation of Government policies Providing mentoring and coaching to Advisors within the regionThe likely appointment range is $104,056 to $115,617, based on skills and experience.Mōu | About youYou'll bring established, enduring relationships with Ngāi Tahu and Ngā Maata Waka communities, excellent relationship management skills, and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and support economic development and community growth opportunities are essential.Ideally, you'll also have experience with government grants, funding, or contract management. We're looking for a candidate with strong policy and machinery of government (MoG) experience, including policy development, writing briefings, drafting official correspondence, preparing advice for decision-makers, and responding to OIA requests and parliamentary questions.
