Business Trainee
About the role
We have a great opportunity with a well-established, privately owned organisation operating across New Zealand and internationally within an essential services sector.
With continued growth, they are investing in developing future leaders who can learn the business end-to-end and step into operational leadership roles.
This role is designed as a pathway into managing a new regional operation.
You’ll complete a structured, paid training programme and gain exposure across all areas of the business, including operations, systems, sales, and customer relationships.
As your capability grows, you’ll take on increasing responsibility, with the goal of progressing into a Branch Manager role and leading a new region.
What you’ll actually do- Generate new business through proactive outreach and relationship building
- Work closely with customers to understand needs and deliver solutions
- Learn day-to-day operations and service delivery
- Take ownership of activity across sales, service and administration
- Build a customer base and contribute to regional growth
- Develop leadership capability and prepare to lead a team
A key part of this role is quickly developing the ability to win new business.
This opportunity is for you if…- You’re working in transport, logistics, operations, or sales and want to step up
- You’re practical, hands-on, and comfortable being out in the field
- You take responsibility for your work and follow things through
- You’re confident building relationships and having conversations with customers
- You’re motivated to learn and develop into a leadership role
- You hold a Full NZ Driver Licence
- You’re open to completing further licences and training as part of the role
- You’re flexible with hours and open to travel during training
You don’t need a degree. You do need drive.
