-resistant organisms, anaerobes, fungi and Mycobacteria.Our aim is to provide a total lab service of excellence and innovation.Te whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityThe Microbiology department of LabPLUS has a vacancy for a permanent Enteric Pathogen and Rapid Molecular Testing Technical Specialist :To be responsible for training and management of staff in the Enteric Pathogen and Rapid Molecular Testing sectionsHave expertise in the culture and identification of enteric pathogensHave demonstrable theoretical and practical expertise in parasite identification from a range of samplesExperienced in the use of Rapid Molecular platforms such as BIofire Filmarray, GeneXpert, QIAstat for testing of a range of samplesExperienced in verification/validation of new methods, tests or equipment.Able to Trouble-shoot processes and maintain a professional relationship with all users of the services, both within and outside LabPLusMaintain operating procedures in the web based MediaLab system and perform quality assurance activitiesContinue process improvements in the sectionActively participate in leadership meetings and maintain competency in other sections to be able to participate in the weekend rosterPlease see the position description hereNga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important SkillsYou will have:Registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council of NZ
