Pay Rate: $35/hour - paid weekly.Hours: Guaranteed 30 hours weekly, with required availability for up to 40
Location: Waimauku, Auckland. This role is ideal for candidates residing in or near Waimauku
Job Description:As a Carpenter/Joiner working on Tiny House projects, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Full frame-to-finish carpentry work within compact residential structures
Measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing timber-based components with high precision
Building custom cabinetry, fold-away furniture, storage solutions, and fitted interiors
Reading and interpreting detailed architectural drawings, cut lists, and joinery diagrams
Applying moisture barriers, insulation, and sealing solutions for weatherproofing
Accurately installing flooring, roofing, windows, and doors in small, often complex spaces
Handling plumbing and electrical pre-fit tasks in coordination with licensed trades
Ensuring all materials are used efficiently with minimal waste
Working with a variety of tools including table saws, routers, nail guns, planers, and jigs
Completing all work to meet or exceed NZ building standards and safety regulations
Keeping workstations clean, organised, and safe.
Ideal Candidate Will Have: A keen eye for detail and dedication to fine finishes – accuracy is key in small spaces
Minimum 4+ years’ hands-on experience in carpentry, joinery.
Solid understanding of structural framing, insulation techniques, and timber selection
Experience working from and adapting technical drawings and specifications
Ability to work in tight spaces and adapt standard practices for non-standard dimensions
Excellent time management and task prioritisation
A proactive and flexible attitude toward problem solving
Physically fit and capable of lifting and manoeuvring materials in compact job sites
****Mandatory Requirements: Full driver’s license + transport
Ability to pass a drug test (if required)
Own tools
Good spoken English (minimum working proficiency)
Site Safe card (or willingness to obtain one)
Be a New Zealand citizen, or have a resident visa
