About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Automotive Damage Estimator / Panelbeater to join our Auckland branch. This role is essential to maintaining the high-quality standard of our rental fleet, particularly when dealing with accident-damaged vehicles.
Beyond technical skills, this role requires strong communication abilities, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will be responsible for:- Inspecting and assessing the extent of damage to vehicles
- Preparing accurate repair estimates and quotations for accident vehicles
- Liaising directly with clients, insurance companies, and external repair shops
- Coordinating vehicle repairs to ensure timely turnaround
- Conducting panel repairs, dent removals, welding, and refinishing as needed
- Ensuring all repair work complies with health and safety and vehicle standards
- Maintaining accurate records of repairs and estimates
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in panelbeating/vehicle painting
- Proven ability to communicate professionally with both clients and business partners
- Strong writing and speaking skills to prepare quotes and explain damage assessments clearly
- Good understanding of automotive repair processes and standards
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases at once
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Knowledge of NZ insurance procedures or willingness to learn is advantageous
