Location: KawerauPay Rate: $38–$47 per hour + overtime
Hours: Full-time, 40+ hours per week

About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Operations Manager, you will carry out CNC machining operations—primarily heavy milling—along with manual machining, fitting, and fabrication. You’ll be part of a high-performing team delivering quality, precision-engineered components across a wide range of industries.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and program multi-axis CNC milling machines (Okuma and Anayak)
- Use Mastercam or on-machine controls for programming
- Set up tooling and machining sequences, ensuring accuracy and quality
- Perform manual machining operations (milling, turning, drilling, boring)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job instructions
- Maintain and calibrate tools and precision measuring equipment
- Operate cranes (up to 50 tonnes) and forklifts safely
- Complete documentation and timesheets accurately
- Uphold workshop safety, cleanliness, and organisation
- Support and mentor apprentices and less experienced team members
- Occasionally travel to client sites as required
- Trade qualification in CNC, Machinist or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of machining experience or a strong foundation in mechanical trades
- Proven experience operating CNC machines in a heavy engineering environment
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and precision measuring tools
- Experience working with various materials (stainless, carbon steels, non-ferrous metals, plastics)
- Forklift and crane operation experience (or willingness to train)
- Team-oriented, safety-conscious, and detail-focused work ethic
