About the Position | Te MahiCurrently we are looking for dedicated support workers to assist our service across Auckland region.
Support work is fun, people-facing, challenging, and very rewarding, and it is also a deeply empathetic journey. It is more than a job; it is an opportunity to provide invaluable support, led by the people you will be supporting.
Responsibilities may Include:- Assisting with personal cares (showering, bathing)
- Assisting with household management and meal preparation
- Supporting exercise programmes
- Assisting with accessing the community
- Bowel, Bladder, and Catheter cares
- Moving and handling hoists and manual transfers
- Medication support
Pay Rate: $28.49 - $30.78 per hour (hourly pay rates are based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
Employment Type: Permanent
We offer a range of employment opportunities including part-time and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process.
Hours of work: Full-time (30+ Hours) or Part-time (Up to 29 Hours)
Days of work: As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am, pm and weekend work. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.
We are looking for someone who would be comfortable covering between the hours of 7 am – 11 pm. The duration of these hours may vary, ranging from shorter to longer periods, depending on the specific needs of the people we support.

You are a calm but confident-natured individual who can demonstrate resilience and understand the challenges of our service users. There are many responsibilities associated with being a support worker which can be challenging and fulfilling.It is rewarding when you are part of the support that enables a person to live their best lives in the community.
The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites):- Prior personal care experience is preferred in rest homes and/or in the community
- Familiarity with complex medical conditions, like spinal injuries, traumatic brain injury
- Access to a car and ability to drive independently (a valid NZ Driver's License is a must)
- A minimum level 3 qualification in Health and Wellbeing (as per the Ministry of Health pay equity qualification equivalencies)
- Flexibility to travel anywhere in Auckland
- Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
- Legal right to work in New Zealand is a must.
