What’s in it for you?
  • 4-day work week – enjoy long weekends with Fridays off!
  • On-site gym – use during smoko
  • Attendance bonus – get rewarded for showing up
  • Real ownership – bring your ideas to life and drive improvements
  • Training and development – grow with a business that’s invested in your future
The Opportunity:
This isn’t just a ‘tick-the-box’ quality role. As Quality Control Inspector, you’ll be a key player in raising the bar; ensuring every product meets the highest standards by conducting thorough inspections, identifying issues, and supporting process improvements.

Metal Skills are after someone who enjoys problem-solving, has an eye for detail, and wants to contribute to a business that values quality as much as you do.

Your key tasks will include:
  • Inspecting manufactured products using calipers, tape measures, angle protractors, jigs, and gauges
  • Conducting tests to detect defects or deviations from specifications
  • Accurately recording measurements, test data, and quality reports
  • Clearly reporting and documenting any defects to the relevant teams
  • Collaborating with production and estimating teams to resolve quality issues
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications
  • Analysing inspection data to identify trends and suggest improvements
  • Supporting health and safety efforts by maintaining a safe and compliant workspace
Flexibility is key: This role includes some shift crossover to cover training and inspections, but hours can be negotiated with the right person. Typical shifts are:
  • Day: 5:00am – 3:30pm
  • Night: 3:30pm – 1:30am

(Monday to Thursday – enjoy your long weekends)

About You:

You’ve worked in a similar role before, ideally in manufacturing —and you’re ready for more ownership and more chances to grow.

You’ll have:
  • Excellent communication – both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with quality control tools and inspection techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills for reporting and teamwork
  • NCEA Level 2 and /or 3 or equivalent
  • Experience in manufacturing or quality control (desired)
