About the Role
In partnership with the Operations Manager and Nurse Unit Manager, you will manage your services to ensure implementation of Te Toka Tumai vision and strategy. As the clinical lead you will develop and lead the service to achieve the agreed service delivery objectives in line with the Te Toka Tumai goals and objectives.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Clinical leadership is important to support our teams to provide best care for our tangata whai ora.
Liaison Psychiatry is based at Auckland City Hospital and provides specialist advice and consultation to services and teams within Te Toka Tumai for people with concurrent physical and mental health needs. The service also provides assessment, advice and consultation to the Emergency Department at Auckland City Hospital.
Awhi Matua Fraser McDonald Unit is a 15-bed acute admission unit located on the Auckland City Hospital site, providing specialist assessment and treatment for people experiencing acute mental illness or behavioural difficulties associated with dementia.
Awhi Matua Mental Health Services for Older People serves the central Auckland population of adults aged over 65 or who have age related conditions. This service is based at the Greenlane Clinical Centre.
The Regional Huntington's Disease Service is a Northern region service and provides support for people generally in the symptomatic phase of Huntington's disease and consultation to local Community Mental Health Services (CMHS), Liaison Psychiatrists and Neurologists .It is based in Pt Chevalier
The Neurostimulation service is based at Auckland City Hospital and provides specialist consultation, assessment and treatment for people who are being considered for or receiving ECT and TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation)

About you
As a Service Clinical Director for Adult Mental Health services, you will meet the below minimum requirements:
- Hold an Annual Practicing Certificate and meet the requirements of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 (HPCA).
- Be a highly experienced and respected clinician with skills and experience relevant to this role
- Demonstrated experience in leadership
- Proven commitment to quality, safety and clinical governance
- Have excellent communication skills and collaborative ability
- Demonstrable knowledge of NZ Health Sector
- Sound understanding of Professional Ethics
