Southland Hospital is our secondary hospital proudly providing top-quality healthcare to a population of 105,000 in the lower South Island.

We cover patients for a wide geographical area, creating enormous scope for variety in the work of a talented professional like you.Our endocrine and diabetes service is mainly an outpatient service with busy endocrine clinics and the registrar clinics as well as the oversight of nurse-led diabetes clinics.

You will also be expected to participate in an on-call roster (8am-4.30pm).
We rarely have inpatients, but you will be available to assist the inpatient teams with complex diabetes patients and endocrine patients.
You will be providing advice to clinicians and patients throughout the district as well.Although this role is based in Invercargill, we are open to discussions on choosing Dunedin as a base with weekly travel to our Southland site.

Our hospital, rebuilt in late 2004, is a new state-of-the-art facility that has a 38-bed medical ward and a six-bed critical care unit, covering the Southland, Queenstown and Te Anau regions.About youAn outstanding team player, you'll have the energy and drive to make a positive difference with both patients and colleagues alike.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be FRACP (or equivalent) holding, or be eligible to hold, a vocational registration with the Medical Council of NZ.
