Quantity Surveyor - Civil Construction

Tired of being a small cog in a big machine?

If you’ve come from a Tier 1 environment, you’ll know the feeling. Layers of process, limited ownership, and being stuck in a narrow lane.

This role is different.

At Seipp, you’ll get the full picture. Real ownership, real variety, and the chance to genuinely influence outcomes on your projects.

About Us

We’re an award-winning civil construction company delivering complex infrastructure across New Zealand.

We don’t just build projects. We make a difference to communities and the people who live in them.

Our work is technically challenging, varied, and high impact. And we’re growing, which means opportunity.

The Role

This is an intermediate-level QS role where you’ll be trusted to step up.

You’ll work alongside Project Managers and site teams to drive strong commercial outcomes across a range of projects, including:

  • Cost control, forecasting, and reporting
  • Managing variations and contract administration
  • Supporting procurement and subcontractor management
  • Identifying risks and opportunities early
  • Being present on projects, not just behind a desk
This is a hands-on role where your input matters from day one.
What Makes This Different
  • Ownership – You won’t be pigeonholed into one part of the job
  • Variety – Exposure across different projects and scopes
  • Visibility – You’re part of the team, not sitting in the background
  • Impact – Your decisions influence project outcomes
  • Support – Experienced leaders around you, without the bureaucracy
We expect a lot, but you’ll get the space to do your best work.

About You

You’re likely:

  • 4–6 years into your QS career
  • From a contractor background (civil or infrastructure preferred)
  • Used to working in structured environments but wanting more autonomy
  • Commercially sharp, with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable building relationships with PMs and site teams
  • Ready to step up and take ownership
Most importantly, you take pride in your work and want to keep improving.
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in cost control, forecasting, and reporting
  • Exposure to variations and contract administration
  • Solid understanding of contracts and commercial processes
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset

Why Seipp

We’re building something here:

  • A business that does things properly
  • A team that backs each other
  • A place where people can grow and take real ownership

We value people who are:

  • Safety-focused
  • Encouraging and team-minded
  • Professional in how they operate
  • Innovative in how they think
  • Purposeful in what they do
Because how we work matters just as much as what we deliver.

Interested?

If you’re ready to step out of a narrow role and into something with more scope, ownership, and impact, we’d like to hear from you.
