About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced electrician who’s ready to pass on their knowledge. As an Electrical Tutor, you’ll facilitate Skills-approved courses, support learners to achieve success, and help shape a future-fit workforce. This is a rewarding opportunity to develop others while continuing to grow professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and assess courses in block or day-release formats
  • Support night classes and ongoing course development
  • Provide coaching and academic support to students
  • Monitor student progress and report outcomes
  • Maintain training centre resources and assist with workshop upkeep
  • Role model and promote Health & Safety practices

What you’ll bring:

  • A current New Zealand Electrical Registration (Full Practising Licence, Inspector’s Licence or equivalent Electrical Engineering qualification)
  • Hold 4098 and unit standard 11551 or be working towards these (if you don't hold these or aren't working towards these, you must be open to obtaining them with Skills Group's support as part of your development)
  • Strong practical experience in the electrical industry
  • Ideally, experience in adult education or training (though we can support you in this area)
  • Strong communication and coaching skills, with a passion for developing others
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
