Solid Plasterer

Job description:
l Examine blueprints and drawings to determine job requirements, materials, and plastering techniques to be used
l Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying bonding agents or mesh where needed
l Mix and apply coats of plaster, cement, or render to walls, ceilings, and facades using trowels, brushes, and spray guns
l Finish surfaces with float and sponge to achieve desired smooth or textured results
l Apply protective coverings such as waterproofing membranes or surface sealants where necessary
l Patch and repair damaged plasterwork on existing walls and ceilings
l May install pre-cast decorative elements such as cornices or ceiling roses
l Ensure work is completed to a high standard and complies with safety and quality regulations
l Maintain tools and work areas in clean and safe condition
Job requirements:
l At least two years of relevant work experience, or
l A Level 4 or higher qualification in a relevant industry, or a bachelor's degree or higher in any field
Other requirements:
Legal right to work in New Zealand
Able to pass a drug test and health examination if required
Good physical fitness and ability to perform labouring tasks
Good teamwork- The Employer’s premise is based in Hamilton. However, due to the nature of the industry, the Employee may be required to work at various sites across the Waikato Region and sometimes in Auckland, which may include being away overnight.
The employee agrees to travel for work from time to time if reasonably required by the employer. The employer will cover travel and accommodation expenses. If the employee has personal circumstances that make travel difficult, the employer and employee will discuss possible adjustments to the work arrangement and reach a mutual agreement within 7 days.
