- time position Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleWe have an opportunity for an experienced Addiction Specialist to join the Mental Health & Addiction services here in Te Tai Tokerau (Northland).This exciting role is open to all senior medical practitioners with experience and interest in addictions practice and would ideally suit those interested in a small city and/ or beach lifestyle in beautiful Te Tai Tokerau.This leadership role is a part of Te Tai Tokerau wider Mental Health and Addiction services, covering the entire district from around Wellsford to the North Cape.We have recently reviewed our model of care

- a framework which outlines our approach to meet the needs of people in Te Tai Tokerau.
The service is inclusive of Opioid Substance Treatment, Alcohol and Other Drugs and Te Ara Oranga which is a multi-agency programme which involves a high level of cooperation between police NGO and health services, tackling methamphetamine addiction in this district.The role provides the opportunity to provide leadership and clinical expertise to a multidisciplinary team, with support for your professional development and plenty of opportunities to make a differenceAbout the LocationAs well as a warm climate, the winterless north offers excellent schools; affordable housing and scenic coastal areas offering a range of recreational activities.
