Join our roading team as a Specialist Operator in Stratford.
As a Specialist Operator you will be undertaking work as part of the Stratford District Council Maintenance Contract. Day to day you are responsible for operating machinery to complete skilled tasks related to civil and roading works. You will be responsible for operating trucks and transporters, excavators, rollers, mid-mount tractors, graders, and water carts.
You will also be involved with the coordination of onsite operations, liaison with internal and external suppliers and subcontractor's onsite, quality delivery onsite and site safety management. You will need to be flexible as shift work, and some weekend work is required.
**In a****ddition to the above you will:**- Take personal responsibility for the safety of your workmates, the environment, public and yourself
- Ensure machinery checks (e.g. tyres, oil and grease, plant pre tart) completed and necessary maintenance completed before machinery is operated

**We're** **looking for someone with:**- Current Class 2 licence, 4 is preferable
- WTR Endorsements
- Be willing to work and achieve class 5 licence if you don't already have it.
- A background in the Roading/Construction industry is preferred but not essential as training can be provided. This role would also suit someone with Class 5 experience looking to move away from linehaul driving.
- Skill in machinery operations.
- Willing to learn and up skill with good supportive training.
- Possess an excellent, can-do attitude and be willing to go the extra mile.
- Willing to work part of a team but also the ability to work unsupervised when required.
