Drainlayer - Christchurch

Job description

Tradestaff Christchurch is seeking a skilled Drainlayer to join our team. If you have hands-on experience in drainage installation, repairs, and maintenance, we want to hear from you!

• Install and maintain drainage systems, including pipes, subsoil drainage, and manholes, ensuring accurate alignment and secure connections
• Carry out trench excavation, potholing, and pipeline laying while maintaining proper water flow and ensuring trench stability
• Adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies
• Ensure quality and safety standards are maintained across all projects
• Work with a team to complete drainage tasks efficiently and to a high standard

• Minimum three years experience as a drainlayer or in a related role
• Strong understanding of construction procedures, drainage systems, and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
• Solid understanding of health & safety best practices
• Physically fit and able to work in various conditions
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport
• Reliability, strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety
• Registered Drainlayer with the ability to gain certification under the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (PGDB) – preferred but not essential
• The ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
