Civil Formwork Carpenter

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil Formwork Carpenter to join our Auckland team. Reporting directly to the Civil Foreman and Operations Manager you will construct formwork for concrete and prepare asphalt areas.

• Constructing timber boxing for driveways, carparks, paths, patios and stairs.
• Laying and tying reinforcing materials, such as mesh and steel.
• Ordering and selecting timber and materials for construction.
• Backfilling and compacting aggregate to levels with small tools and plant.
• Operating a range of hand and power tools to cut and fix building materials.
• General construction tasks e.g. hammering, fixing, shovelling, wheel barrowing, sweeping, lifting etc.
• Assisting concrete placers with concrete pours.
• Listening to instructions and taking direction from management.
• Leading civil hammer hands/labourers including assisting with site set up.
• Completing timesheets and recording job specifics.

• Must have proven experience boxing driveways and carparks.
• Have an understanding of the ground preparation involved with asphalt and concrete.
• Can read construction plans, set heights and run string lines.
• A current Class 1 driver’s license. Experience towing and backing a trailer would be an advantage.
• Good organisation skills, including ability to accurately complete time sheets.
• Physical fitness, to be able to complete labour intensive tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and can follow instructions.
• Have a sense of pride in your work and a positive attitude.
• Committed to being at work on time and ready for the day.
• Can work well in a team, and unsupervised.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.

Please note our yard is based in Northern Auckland (Dairy Flat), but we work Auckland wide. Our current works are predominantly in West and Central Auckland.
