Social Worker | Young Parents Support (Part-Time)

Our Young Parents Development Service works with and supports young parents aged 24 years and under.

We are looking for a Social Worker to join the Young Parents Development Team based at St John of God Waipuna. This vacancy is a permanent part-time position working 20 hours per week.

Preferred applicants will have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Maori and Bi-cultural practice
  • Social Work Qualification (Pay Equity for Social Workers applies to this position)
  • Experience in building respectful relationships with young parents and their children
  • Knowledge of child development and respectful parenting approaches
  • Knowledge and experience in working with whanau to support positive outcomes for rangatahi
  • Experience working with families in transitional/social housing an advantage
