Cafe Manager Wanted - Join Our Vibrant Team!

Doubleshot is seeking an experienced and passionate Cafe Manager to join our team on Waiheke Island. If you're a coffee aficionado with a knack for leadership, we'd love to hear from you!

The Role: This is a permanent, full-time position, requiring a minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week. As our Cafe Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our coffee shop. Your role will involve a blend of hands-on operational duties and comprehensive management responsibilities.

Key Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Operational Oversight: Organise and control the day-to-day operations of the cafe, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and efficiency.
• Coffee Expertise: Prepare and serve a full range of coffee beverages to high standards, demonstrating advanced barista skills.
• Team Leadership & Training: Recruit, train, and supervise cafe staff, including baristas and front-of-house team members. This includes managing staff performance, conducting regular rostering for our 7-day operation, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts, and providing essential barista training.
• Inventory & Ordering: Manage raw material and product ordering from suppliers, ensuring optimal stock levels and quality control. Stock management skills are a must.
• Financial Management: Oversee cash control, daily reconciliation, and banking procedures.
• Systems & Maintenance: Implement and maintain operational systems, including periodic cleaning schedules, pest control, and equipment maintenance. This includes troubleshooting and maintaining coffee machines and grinders, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Customer Experience: Ensure dining facilities are clean, functional, and inviting. Address customer feedback and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Marketing & Promotions: Assist with local marketing initiatives, including promotions and social media content, to attract and retain customers.
• General Management: Oversee general cafe operations, including finding cover for sick staff and resolving day-to-day issues efficiently.
• Hours of Work: Minimum 30 guaranteed hours per week. This role will involve a rotating roster, must be available to work Weekends , with a start time of 6:15 AM sharp!
• Minimum and Maximum Pay: NZD $30 - $35per hour

Requirements:

• Must reside on Waiheke Island (relocation necessary if not already residing on the island).
• Early riser: Start time is 6:15 AM sharp!
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on barista experience.
• Proven management experience in running a business (minimum of 3 years experience).
• Stock management skills a must.
• Staff recruitment, barista training ability essential.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting skills for coffee machines and grinders.
• Demonstrated ability to organise and control daily operations, including staff management, inventory, and financial procedures.
• Strong understanding of food safety standards and compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand.
