Dargaville - Agricultural Sprayer & Machine Operator

Fieldco is a generational family run business, growing and supplying top-quality kumara and other fresh produce to Kiwis nationwide. Our farms are located across the Kaipara and Far North, though this job will cover our sites at Ruawai and around Dargaville.

We’re looking for an experienced Spray Operator to join our team at Fieldco’s Northland operations who is also able to help with machine operating. This full-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day, takes pride in precise work, and wants to be part of a business that’s all about growing some of the best produce for Kiwi families!

As a Spray Operator, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of spraying equipment, including our 18m Boom Sprayers, to support healthy crops and sustainable farming practices. You’ll work closely with our agronomists and farm managers and other machine operators.

• Previous experience operating agricultural spraying machinery/equipment
• Relevant and current spraying certifications (e.g., Growsafe and Certified Handler)
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach to work
• Flexibility to work extended or variable hours during peak seasons
• A full NZ driver licence
• New Zealand residency or a valid work visa

• Operate an 18m Boom Sprayer with precise application of chemicals
• Measure, mix, and apply agrichemicals according to instructions and safety standards
• Keep accurate records of applications and chemical inventory
• Monitor crops for disease and pest issues and report findings
• Operate other horticultural machinery and assist with crop and farm maintenance
• Ensure compliance with NZS 8409:2021 and Hazardous Substances Regulations
• Maintain and carry out basic servicing of spraying equipment
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures
• Raise any safety or equipment concerns promptly with managers or agronomists
• Complete daily operator checklists and refresher training as required
