Marine Painter - Tauranga

Super Yacht Coatings are a world class marine coating service with headquarters based in Tauranga and Auckland, and operating throughout New Zealand and internationally.

You must be legally entitled to work in NZ.

You will be working with a fantastic team of skilled marine fairers and painters, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to outstanding quality. Key tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Mixing bog, fairing, sanding, masking, cleaning and prepping vessels for refinishing
• Application of undercoats and primers
• Application of topcoats
• Sandblasting and below waterline system application
• Establishing knowledge of marine paint systems and corrosion control
• Establishing skill set and knowledge to then work towards gaining a NZ Marine Industry apprenticeship (if applicable)

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in professional painting
• Experience in preparing surfaces, colour matching and mixing, paint application and polishing
• Experience in all types of top coating – brush, roller, spray
• Commitment to a high standard of finish
• A team attitude and exceptional work ethic

• High pressure water blasting and/or sand blasting experience
• Hands-on practical skills and experience in hand and power tools
• Knowledge of marine paint systems and corrosion control
• A passion for boats and the marine environment
