We’re looking for a Prep Chef to help us on our quest. Every day we wake up to find new ways to craft exceptional products and services. We bake the best pastries in Canterbury and we’re on the hunt for more great people. We are growing fast and we need you to help us be as efficient and effective as possible.

You’ll be working in a Culinary Department full of driven and ambitious people, and be working at our main bakery location, with plenty of samples to try and the smell of fresh bread and pastries to motivate you. You’ll be working with premium ingredients and equipment to hand craft innovative products from traditional methods.

We have 70+ staff working round-the-clock to get our breads, pastries, & sandwiches delivered to a variety of retail and wholesale customers daily. Which means there’s a wide range of viennoiseries to bake, sandwiches to fill, and donuts to finish – so you should be someone who is consistent, precise, determined, and a team player.

And, as Culinary Chef, we might ask for you to help with cleaning, ordering supplies, and even lending a hand with our pastry team.

In a nutshell – we need a culinary pro to invest in our high standards of quality. We need someone who is detail oriented and focused, but playful and creative when it comes to dreaming up new products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and prepare kitchen equipment and tools before use
  • Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
  • Bake pastries, cookies and any other items as needed to the desired degree of colour and setting
  • Shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including croissants, cookies and sweet rolls
  • Prep food ingredients for daily shop production
  • Track food supplies and place orders, as needed
  • Execute cleaning duties as per the current Cleaning Schedule
The above list is not exhaustive, and the role may change to

meet the overall objectives of the company.

Role is to be consistently Tuesday-Saturday, mixture of 4:00am and 4:30am starts.
