Whether you are in a similar role now or are looking to further develop your knowledge and skills, we welcome your application.You will be involved with a variety of work undertaken by the Quality and Safe Use of Medicines (QSUM) team supporting medicine management across the organisation.
From answering medicine information queries to reviewing guidelines, to involvement with medication safety projects and prescriber orientation, the role contributes to organisational-wide safe medicine use. There may also be an opportunity to be involved with clinical trials and infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship, and there is an option to incorporate a small component of clinical (ward) work.This is a full time permanent position where you will predominantly work Monday to Friday. Pharmacists are usually rostered to work the occasional Saturday and can undertake on call duties if trained and required. About the Team/ServicePharmacy Services at Health New Zealand Waikato provides services to Waikato Hospital and rural hospitals across the Waikato, as well as tertiary advisory and support services to the Te Manawa Taki region. The pharmacy service is divided into five teams: Clinical Services, Dispensary and Supply, Oncology, Haematology and Compounding (OHC) service, Quality and Safe Use of Medicines (QSUM) and our onsite Community Pharmacy service (Pharmacy on Meade).
About youSkills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role.Registration with Pharmacy Council of NZ, with a current Pharmacist Annual Practising Certificate (or able to register once period of supervision undertaken, as required by PCNZ);Clinical/ward hospital pharmacy experience preferred but not essential.Previous medicine information training or experience with medicines safety initiatives desirable.Post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy advantageous.Good communication and organisational skills Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
