Automotive Technicians Experience with WOF

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Duties:
- Perform diagnostic assessments, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of vehicles (Japanese and European) to a high standard.
- Conduct WOF inspections and ensure compliance with New Zealand’s vehicle safety regulations.
- Provide technical expertise and fix complex repair issues.
- Ability to work computer-controlled management systems.
Management and Support:
- Assist daily workshop operations to Workshop/Technical Manager, General Manager, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and technical training (If required)
- Promote and enforce health and safety best practices in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain quality control procedures and uphold service standards to consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
Customer Service:
- Liaise with customers to discuss vehicle issues, repairs, and timelines.
- Prepare and present clear, professional quotations for services and repairs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through transparent communication and reliable service delivery.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as an automotive technician, with a strong track record in diagnostics and repairs.
- A valid WOF certification and knowledge of New Zealand's automotive industry regulations.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with extensive experience in managing or mentoring a team.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent liaison and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with workshop management tools and technology.
- Strong commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant and conducive work environment.
