About the Role

Health Care Assistants support the healthcare team, ensuring service delivery is maintained at all times. As an HCA with the Wilson Centre, you will work with children who have high support needs, providing quality care and opportunities for fun and recreation for our clients.

About Us

Our Out of Home Child Respite Service is for children and young people who have disabilities, are medically fragile and have high support needs. The Child Rehabilitation Service provides intensive nursing and therapy to clients, as part of a multidisciplinary team, following orthopaedic surgery procedures or traumatic/acquired brain injury.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have experience working with children who have high support needs. High energy levels, and a genuine interest in providing high quality care are a must, as well as great communication skills, and a willingness to learn.

As our service is available to our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you will need to have flexibility to work rostered shifts, including night shifts. Most importantly, you will be passionate about working with high needs tamariki and their whanau, and able to provide culturally sensitive and whanau-centered care to our Maori and Pasifika clients.
