About the Role The Nurse Educator (NE) will contribute to themanagement of all aspects of the NESP Programme to include recruitment withinACE requirements and guidelines.
To participate in coordination ofthe NESP placements including a minimum of two site visits every three months.To work with clinical teams and the District Studentplacement coordinatorsto monitor and support nursing students across MHAIDS clinical placements.
About theTeam/Service/ Location MHAIDS nursing is a specialist area of nursing.Nurses employed inMHAIDS must complete a pre- registration program or post graduate program inMental Health or intellectual disability nursing.
The Nursing NESP education team contribute to themanagement of all aspects of the NESP Programme to include recruitment withinACE requirements and guidelines.

The team consists of NESP Educators, Māori NESPEducator/s and a Pacific NESP Educator.
All work together to supportthe cohort of NESPs, with the Māori NESP Educator and Pacific NESP Educatorhaving a primary role with Māori NESPs and Pacific NESPS.About you The NE
- NESP will work within the NESP educator team to supportand coordinate the program including: Maintaininga record of trainees' progress (including attendance and assessment).
Liaisonwith clinical staff, including preceptor and supervisor selection.
Facilitationof clinical placements for trainees outside the normal workplace setting wherenecessary.Curriculumdevelopment and review.
Adviceto trainees on the training programme requirements including guidance onrecognition of prior learning.
Coordinationof clinical teaching, e.g.
study days, tutorials.
Coordinationof clinical supervision for all NESPs..Programme(including clinical workplace/placement) evaluation and qualityimprovement .
Competencyassessment of trainees- this will include an ongoing formative assessment overthe duration of the programme.
Issueresolution between trainee/preceptors/supervisors.
Participatein the advisory group, which provides appropriateknowledge and expertise from the mental health and addictionsector to ensure the relevance and currency of the programme develop the report to the funder.You must be:Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ).
Have A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) and scopeappropriate to place of work.Relevantpost-graduate qualification
- working towards Master of Nursing.
