Excavator Operator - Thames
Experienced Excavator Operator on the West Coast x 3
Our client is a well-established player in the New Zealand mining sector. We are currently seeking 3 experienced Excavator Operators to join their team on the West Coast. These are permanent full time positions. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced, skilled and reliable operators looking for stable, long-term work with a reputable employer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate large hydraulic excavators (35 - 50 tonne) for earthworks, extraction, and loading
- Load and manage overburden, ore, and rock in coordination with haul trucks
- Carry out daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance
- Work safely and efficiently according to site requirements and production targets
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
About You:
- Minimum 100 hours proven experience operating excavators in mining, quarrying, or civil environments
- Familiar with operating brands such as CAT, Hitachi, or Liebherr
- Good understanding of site safety and machinery operations
- Physically fit and reliable, with a strong work ethic
Requirements:
- Valid Class 1 New Zealand driver licence
- Minimum 100 hours proven experience operating excavators
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
Work Conditions:
- 12 hour shifts 5 days per week, min 40 hrs and max 60 hours per week
- Drive in, stay on-site for 5 days then leave for 2 days
- Exposure to dust, noise, extreme temperatures, and weather conditions.
