ABOUT THE ROLE:We have an internal workshop team that completes all regular servicing, maintenance and repairs on our large fleet which includes heavy commercial trucks & trailers, earthmoving machines, agricultural type equipment, light vehicles and ancillary small plant.
We are looking for a mechanic to join our small team to undertake routine servicing maintenance and repairs to all plant, equipment as reported on the company fleet management system.This will be a varied, self-driven role, with an even split of time performing onsite maintenance as well as within the workshop environment.
The right person must be a Trade Qualified Diesel Mechanic and have at least 3yrs experience in the industry.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS- Positive attitude and good communication skills
- Ability to communicate and gain cooperation from other staff, contractors and suppliers
- Time Management skills and ability to work as part of a team or unsupervised
- Ability to recognise problems/issues, analyse, formulate and implement appropriate solutions as it relates to plant and machinery.
- Administration – recording of completed work in a timely manner
- Knowledge of mechanical workshop operations and associated equipment.
- Knowledge of standards and regulations associated with the mechanical workshop plant and fleet.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance technology maintaining plant and equipment procedures and processes.
- Knowledge of Diesel Engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems.
- Hold current NZ drivers licence class 1, 2 or greater. WTR endorsement preferable but training can be provided.
- Trade Qualified
- Experience with earthmoving and/or road transport equipment beneficial
- Engineering experience beneficial, but not a requirement
- Physically fit.
