Responsibilities range from assessment, including neuropsychological assessments, psychological testing and treatment. Provide individual psychotherapy for whaiora/whanau and support the team through offering supervision and teaching to the team.Please click here to view the position descriptionAbout the Team/Service/ LocationThe MHSOP team is multi-disciplinary and currently includes 3 psycho-geriatricians, 1 full time and 1 part time clinical psychologist, mental health nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and cultural support.

The team has a strong focus on community care but also has access to four beds within the acute inpatient area. The service provides specialist assessment and treatment in outpatient clinics and in people's home including care facilities. We can offer you a welcoming and supportive environment with a team that is committed to ensuring you are successful in your role.

We will also provide a comprehensive orientation process when you start so that you become familiar not only with our service but also the wider mental health sector in Taranaki.For more information on living and working in Taranaki click hereAbout youSuccessful candidates will have:Be a Doctor of Clinical Psychology or equivalent; Clinical Psychology Scope of Practice.Be registered and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate from the New Zealand Psychologists Board.Have at least two years post registration experience.Preferably have experience in working with older adults, neuropsychology and CBT.Be committed to team working and contribute to team success.Understanding and application of the principles of the treaty of Waitangi, with a culturally safe and appropriate approach to practiceWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
