The Role:We are looking for a seasoned Rope Access Technician with extensive experience in high-rise window cleaning. This role requires a meticulous and safety-conscious individual who can independently manage complex window cleaning tasks on commercial and residential buildings across Wellington.
You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness while strictly adhering to all safety protocols and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform high-rise window cleaning using industrial rope access techniques.Inspect, set up, and dismantle rope access systems and equipment safely and efficiently.
Conduct pre-use checks of all rope access and cleaning equipment.
Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and WorkSafe NZ guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of work completed, equipment inspections, and hours logged.
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
Identify and report any building maintenance issues or defects observed during work.
Potentially assist with other rope access building maintenance tasks as required (e.g., facade cleaning, leak detection, minor repairs), depending on qualifications and company needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum 5000 hours of demonstrable experience in high-rise window cleaning using rope access techniques. (Please provide a detailed logbook or verifiable references.)IRATA Level 2 or 3 certification (or equivalent SARNZ Certificate of Competence Level 3 or 4). Current and valid certification is essential.
Proven understanding and adherence to New Zealand Health and Safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and relevant Codes of Practice.
Strong practical skills in rope access rigging, manoeuvres, and rescue techniques.
Excellent knowledge of window cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to safety.
Physically fit and comfortable working at significant heights in varying weather conditions.
Valid New Zealand Driver's License.
Valid working rights in New Zealand.
Desirable (but not essential):
WAM is Visa accredited
Additional certifications in first aid, confined spaces, or other relevant height safety disciplines.Experience in other building maintenance tasks at height.
