- collaboration, integrity and excellence.About the opportunity | Ngā whakamārama mō te tūngaThis a great opportunity to work in a true generalist role, gaining experience working right across the HR function, within a small Ministry, and a collaborative HR team supporting approximately 220 employees.
Our HR team consists of HR professionals who genuinely lean in to create a supportive and fun environment.
(We also have a great appreciation of chocolate, Dad jokes and like to laugh)As an HR Adviser, you'll be the first point of contact for HR advice and support for our Tier 3 people leaders, leading work within your own assigned portfolio, as well as supporting the development and implementation of various HR initiatives.
You will be supported by, and work alongside a talented, approachable HR Business Partner, who will provide you with the support, experience, and development opportunities to help you grow in your career.This is a broad role where the work is truly varied and interesting.
Key responsibilities include:Providing timely, accurate, quality services, advice and support to people leaders across a broad spectrum of HR matters including induction, employment relations, remuneration, payroll, recognition and reward, reporting and analytics, learning and development, performance management, health & safety, talent management and change management.Working with the HR Business Partners, Principal Adviser Capability and other members of the HR team to deliver consistent advice and services, drive collaboration and contribute to key work projects/programmes.Te wāhi ki a koe | What you'll bringApprox 2 years previous experience providing solid HR advice and support, particularly on employment relations matters.
Public sector experience will be very valuable.A strong customer focus with the ability to remain calm under pressure.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships, with an ability influence and persuade.Drive, motivation and a strong work ethic with the ability to build capability in others by advising, supporting and coaching.Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a keen eye for detail.Excellent numerical capabilities to produce accurate reports and metrics, and check payroll calculations if needed as back-up to other roles in the team.Ability to manage your time effectively and juggle multiple priorities.A positive and flexible work mindset, with the willingness to learn and support across all areas of the HR function as and when required.
Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary rangeThe salary band range is $90,791- $110,000 per annum (+ KiwiSaver).
