Telecommunications - Administration Supportat Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Lakes -
Professionalism, exceptional communication skills and calm approach ensure people are connected to the right support quickly and safely.The role is to support patient care, clinical teams and families/whanau via communication of phones/call centre, paging system and RTs.
As a critical service our main priority is to answer our emergency calls for Whakatane and Tauranga hospitals which involves directing the correct medical team to an emergency in a timely manner.Strong problem-solving abilities play an integral part in the smooth running of the service to ensure good outcomes are reached.
Introductory 6 weeks training is provided with the support of a trained Senior Operator.With Telecommunications operating 24/7 the team work on a shift rotation - morning, day, evening and night shift/s on a 4-week rotating roster. For this 0.6 FTE part time position, approximately 2 x nightshifts per month is a prerequisite.
